As a sales leader with 20+ years of leading teams from 10-100+, one constant throughout her career journey is that HEATHER JOHNSON has a passion for people. Her unique approach with a strengths-based mindset has led to an exceptional track record of success. What motivates her more than anything though, is lighting that spark in others, helping them achieve results they may not have themselves initially believed they could accomplish. Her ability to help others recognize their own talents, identifying their own secret sauce to solve problems, accomplish their personal and professional goals, and have fun doing it their way is what makes her a great coach and teacher. From individual and team development to coaching emerging women leaders as part of employee resource groups she helped build, she is committed to helping others find their passion and a path to success.
Coming from a family of educators, Heather began her career as a High School teacher and School District Trainer before transitioning to pharmaceutical sales. After a short tenure as an award-winning representative, Heather began her leadership journey with a number of roles as she progressed to where she is today. She led a number of teams as a District Manager at both Pharmacia and Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation before taking on more strategic, creative roles, developing and implementing Customer Marketing programs at both Novartis and Alcon. She applied her teaching and training background when charged to be the Head of US Pharma Training at Alcon. Here she began to influence a broader audience with Strengths, implementing strengths-based development as part of Training and Management Development programs. When she was promoted to Regional Director, responsible for a sales force of 110+ and ~$500million, she turned the performance trajectory around by applying a strengths-based engagement approach that led to increased productivity, performance and overall job satisfaction. Most recently, Heather helped build the commercial team at Aerie Pharma from the ground up as a Regional Director. Here again, strengths and engagement have played a key role in the success of her teams and her own
award-winning performance.
